Only other flag that seems to be unconfirmed - or possibly abandoned nowadays, but was used in first years for independence - the naval white ensign.

According to a new book titled "Air markings of the world", published in Beijin, China in Oct 2003 and supervised by Chinese Airforce political Committee, Tanzanian air marking has blue border to the disc.

In Cochrane and Elliott's Military Aircraft Insignia of the World (1998) [cos98] is written:
"Tanganyika and Zanzibar united to form Tanzania in 1964. An air-wing of the People's Defence Force was formed soon after. Aircraft have always carried the same markings, a green disc with a yellow torch and wreath.
